There’s a saying that says “A Lady Never Tells,’ and there are some household problems that we don’t ever talk about! Well I’m about to share one of those secrets with you; I’ll let you in on this very special one for keeping your bathroom fresh!
I came across a great tip that I couldn’t help but want to share with my readers. This is a simple way to freshen up your bathroom, and one you’ll never forget.
Every time you take out a new toilet paper roll, add 2-3 drops of the essential oil of your choice to the inside cardboard of the roll. That way, each time you or someone else uses the toilet paper, you will instantly experience the fresh scent of that particular essential oil.
For those of you following our Hair Loss Makeover Winner, Linsey, and her journey, you know she has gone through a private consultation to determine the best solution for her hair loss.
In order to further determine the best custom designed solution for Linsey, or anyone who comes in to Jeffrey Paul Salon, we must determine Linsey’s lifestyle, in order to determine which attachment method would be best suited for her needs.
In the video above I will take you through and explanation, as well as some facts, about the two types of attachment methods. These two attachment methods are:
“How can I appear more confident in my personal or professional life even when I don’t feel it?” – Lauren
Perhaps you’ve seen that woman who passes you on the sidewalk or who sits across from you at the weekly office meeting and you can’t help but think, “Wow, she sure is poised. How can I be so sure of myself like her?” Remember, to portray confidence, you must believe that you’re confident. Here are a few tips to portraying confidence:
Body Language: Confident people sit up straight, walk with their head held high, and aren’t afraid of eye contact.
Speech: When you speak with a purpose and in a relaxed tone, you immediately come off self-assured.
Dress: While confidence comes from the inside, the easiest way to prove it to yourself is to dress in clothing that makes you feel good (no, not sweatpants!). This doesn’t mean flashy is the go-to either. Confidence shouldn’t be mistaken for cockiness.
Now, with these tips, it’s your turn to be that all around confident person that people look at and say, “Now she’s sure of herself!”

March is National Women’s History Month and because I believe that each and every one of you has a strong mark to make in history, I want to challenge and inspire you to learn, dream and achieve like the women of our past. We celebrate women who have preceded us as well as women who continue to inspire us as they go above and beyond their day-to-day duties and have proven to be invaluable to our society.
From Amelia Earhart to Susan B. Anthony, women have proven to our society that they do matter and I want you to know that this includes you, even if you don’t feel that way today. You are a woman who deserves to be recognized and that is exactly what I plan to do in the month of March. I want to inspire you through powerful quotes, beauty tips, and Linsey, our ‘A New You’ makeover contest winner’s hair restoration process. You deserve to shine not only in the month of March, but always!
If there is a woman who inspires you to live up to your full potential, please comment below and tell me who she is and how she inspires you.
No two faces are exactly the same, but we do all have a very specific face shape that helps us determine the best hairstyle for us. Do you know what shape your face is? If you don’t, then it’s time to figure it out!
Click here and watch the video above to help you determine your face shape on your own. I also suggest speaking with your stylist to have them help you determine your face shape. Once you determine your face shape your stylist should be able to match the best hairstyle (cut, length and overall style) to the shape of your face. This will help accentuate your most beautiful features and give you and even more beautiful look.
If you’re interested in learning more about what hairstyles fit best with each face shape, I have listed out and described the goals each hairstyle should have and what styles achieve that goal. Click here to see the samples for each face shape.

Communications is the key to a healthy self, life, career, organization and family – as well as every relationship you encounter. Not only have I made it my personal goal, but I have also set the goal for Jeffrey Paul Salon, as a whole, to make itour highest priority and focus for 2014 to become even more “healthy. I would like to introduce you to Carolyn Santos, a nationally known communication coach, who is going to not only be a coach to me and my team but also may be a great coach for you as well!
I started noticing my hair getting thinner in the past 8 years. First, it started as just a few hair strands a days, then, more hair began to appear in the shower drain, until one day I realized: “I have a real problem here!” My biggest questions were, “WHY is this happening to me?”, and “WHAT can I do about it?” That’s the way communication issues start. It is one little thing here, one misunderstanding there. One offense caused because someone simply does not understand when they do or say “THAT”, it hurts or offends me. Or, if you are like me, you have conflicting thoughts or ‘voices’ inside that make you feel that you must need to see a professional! Well, yes, we do! But, not that kind of professional! We need a Communication Coach. Someone who can share very simple information that once you know it, it changes everything and starts preventing LOSS in relationships!
Going through life having to deal with hair loss can be a constant struggle, a struggle that as adults can be emotionally and physically taxing. As taxing as it may be for adults imagine experiencing that struggle from a child’s perspective, can you imagine how daunting that would be?
My non-profit organization, Wigs For Kids, has had the opportunity to love, support and assist children who are experiencing medical related hair loss. With this opportunity, we have been blessed with an outstanding network of individuals who give their time, support, funds and services to help children look and feel themselves.
Yet in order to provide wigs to as many children in need as possible, Wigs For Kids needs to rely on generous volunteers, donations, and fundraisers. How can you help make these wishes come true? Here are three ways you can help out:
It takes 20-30 ponytails to create one wig for a child. By growing and donating your hair to Wigs for Kids you can become a part of changing that child’s life.
Host a Ladies Night of Pampering with your friends! Provide the food and drinks and even a silent auction and have donating’s go to Wigs For Kids.
3. Use Aquage/Wigs for Kids Products!
We have been lucky enough to partner with Aquage care and stylist products to create a Wigs for Kids gift pack. Support Wigs for Kids while looking beautiful with these fantastic products.
By getting involved, you’re helping to increase the help and support we can give to these kids at no cost to them. It is with your generosity that we are able to put a smile on these kids’ faces!
If you would like to learn more about Wigs For Kids and how you and your salon can get involved, please find information on their website here, or email or call me.
I had the opportunity to write an article for Help Me 2 Stop, an organization working to bridge the gap between Trichotillomania suffers and salon professionals, and I want to share this article with my blog followers because I feel like every woman experiencing hair loss may have these same questions.
There are many special holidays and events that can be a time when many women experiencing hair loss want to hide away and not celebrate with that special someone. You ask yourself, “will he notice that I’m wearing a hairpiece,” “what will he feel when they touch my wig,” “what will his reaction be if I tell them I’m wearing a wig?”
These are all questions we contemplate each day we walk out of our homes and into a world where others never think of these things. But there are things you can do to build confidence in yourself and confidence in your true beauty.
As many of you know, I end each of my posts with “beauty begins within,” because I truly believe that it does. I see so many beautiful women whose beauty is outstanding, but hidden by fear of rejection or ridicule. It hurts my heart that these women can’t see what we see, and that’s why I’ve dedicated my life to helping them see their true beauty. When life gets you down, remember the following:
Beauty begins with a simple choice you make each and everyday. The words you choose to tell yourself have power to make you feel beautiful each day.
“Consequently, faith comes from hearing, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” – Romans 10:17
Let me know in your comments below how this message speaks to you. Have you begun to tell yourself that you’re beautiful?
In my last blog I talked about how you can start to tackle your hair loss this year as a personal resolution for yourself. If you have begun to collect the hairs that fall out each day, then I want to discuss the next steps.
We want to evaluate various factors or your lifestyle at different times to see how problems might be progressing. You should note that hair loss is related to what happened yesterday – not today. We will likely have forgotten what might have caused it, because the loss becomes noticeable only after the events that triggered it. I encourage my clients to keep a diary or a journal of their hair loss over a ninety-day period – which represents the cycle of hair. I encourage you to do the same before you begin addressing your hair loss concerns constructively, and continue to alter.
For the same reasons, we take a two-to five-year personal history on a client in our initial consultation and create a timeline showing the correlation of events in their lives with noticed amounts of loss. When our clients see these timelines, they often say, “I didn’t realize that all of this was happening at the same time.” The main reason to do that initial assessment is to win the first half of the battle – understanding what has actually happened that brought about some of these issues.
After evaluating every aspect of your life, your hair restoration specialist should have a better idea of why you are experiencing hair loss, what steps you can take to prevent further hair loss, and what solution is a best fit for you.
If you would like to learn more about the right solution for your individual hair loss please emailor call me to set up a private and personal consultation with one of my consultation specialists. Your health is something that you need to think about with a total body approach. One of the areas we tend to forget about when working on our posture is our hip flexures. Because most of us sit all day in an office chair, that creates a tightening in our hips, as well as our back and chest. So in today’s series of stretches with Mark Roozen, we show you a stretch that works on your hip flexures and back.
Using a stick for support, begin swinging your leg back and forth. Make sure you’re standing tall and straight up. By kicking your leg back and forth, you are opening up your hips and allowing your back to straighten up.

2014 is the year, the year to tackle your hair loss and find out how you can find a solution.
Treating your hair loss starts at home. The products you use at home will change. The way you take care of your hair and even the manner in which you do many standard things in your life will change to accommodate the needs of your hair. I want you to begin to chart your course of treatment and monitor your needs in order to have the most effective outcome.
About a week before clients come in to see us at the Jeffrey Paul Salon, we have them gather and count the hair that falls out during that week. When they come in, we conduct an analysis using a microscopic video monitoring of their scalp, the follicles, the openings where hair emerges from the scalp, and other factors, in order to measure and put a value on the stage of your loss so that you can understand the steps you will need to take to alter the situation. If you collect hair you’ve lost and put it in a clear plastic baggie, daily, for a week, you can see at a glance whether you are losing more or less hair as time goes on.
